In 1989 Larwin and Silvia Nickelson received the vision from God to plant an international church in Basel, called "International Christian Fellowship".

In 1998 International Christian Fellowship merged with another English speaking church in the city, Oikos Church, at that time led by Erik and Crissy Tammaru from the USA. The merge brought forth the new name: Oikos International Church.

In 2004 OIC founded Stiftung b/e/t/e (Basel für Einheit, Transformation und Erweckung).
